I love what I do! Making sure that pets have the best life possible is my goal. Also, that the pet parents don't need to worry when they aren't there which we all know is a huge relief.

I'm 54 years old and am a freelance writer and graphic designer who has purposely constructed my life to be able to travel, take care of pets, and build friendships along the way.
We become family...
I've sat multiple times for multiple people and it ends pretty much the same way...I fall in love with the pets and become a part of the family with the pet owners. We all become invested in making the best life possible for our pets.

It's more than a service...
Not only do I tend to your fur baby and their basic needs, but I also look at them as a whole. Is there something that would make them happier? Is there a certain toy that would make playtime better? Are there any chronic conditions that you just need a fresh set of eyes on? I take more of a holistic approach that owners really seem to appreciate!

All services include a
FREE 15 minute Meet n' Greet
I want your fur baby to see that you are putting your stamp of approval on me! I can stop by your place or we can do it remotely. We'll learn a bit about each other and what you need me to do, as well as, see their sweet faces!

Drop-in Visits
At a prearranged time, I will arrive to feed, clean litter boxes, freshen water, and enjoy play time.

Melissa is truly the absolute BEST petsitter we have EVER had. She went above and beyond the entire time she watched our cats (and our condo). She would start our car every month to make sure it was running, handled any maintenance issue and worked well with our building to ensure everything was running perfectly when we returned. Amazing! However, she really shines when it comes to compassion and care of our 2 senior cats ...

"Melissa cared for our 9 year old little dog for about 3 weeks. This was the longest we have left our baby with a THS, so we were a little more anxious than usual. Melissa was already in Chicago and came to meet us and Bella before the start date of the sit. Bella immediately took to her and Melissa to Bella. We all got to know each other a bit, which was really nice.
Melissa is a true modern nomadic. She runs her own business via the internet, so she was able to be home with Bella almost 100% of the time. A few days before we left, Bella was having some unusual behavior. Melissa arrived the night before we had to leave, so she was aware of our concerns. The next morning, we took Bella to the vet, and Melissa came to the appointment with us. Bella checked out ok and had some blood samples taken. While we were gone, Melissa also took a urine sample into the vet. While we were gone, Melissa provided frequent reports, pictures, and videos.
Bella was very happy, and Melissa had her playing fetch in no time. Bella ate well, slept with Melissa, and was her happy-go-lucky self in the pictures and videos. Whatever was wrong with Bella passed, and we knew Melissa was taking good care of her. The only problem with Melissa is she takes very long sitting assignments, so she isn't frequently available. If she is available, don't hesitate. Book her right away."
